Blazers Win...A Few...Some More...A Lot

As predicted, the Blazers are currently on an 11-game winning streak. Tonight they face the woeful Minnesota Timberwolves in a historic game at the Rose Garden. Why is it historic? Well, Blazerdamus will be making his first trip to see the Blazers in person this season. Not only that, but Blazerdamus has deep Minnesota ties that will be broken tonight, as he cheers on them TrailBlazers. Go Portland!

Blazers Ready To Get Back On The Winning Track

Continuing the trends, they will win tonight's game (since it's at the Rose Garden).

Blazers Lose To Bobcats

Another road game, another loss for the Blazers.

Road Woes Continue For Blazers

The Blazers were unable to beat the Washington Wizards on Saturday night, falling 90-109. The worst news was that Gilbert Arenas didn't even play!

So far the Blazers are perfect at home and winless on the road. While I had predicted the Blazers would bounce back from the difficult Philly game, I am gonna have to go with the trends. Tonight they face Charlotte and until further notice Blazerdamus will not be predicting any road victories (but wouldn't mind being proved wrong).

Blazers Still Winless On Road

Blowing a 25-point lead, the Blazers fell to the Philadelphia 76ers 92-88 tonight, to continue their winless streak away from the Rose Garden.

Tomorrow they face the Washington Wizards, and I again predict the first road victory.

Blazers Lose On Road Again

As predicted, the Denver Nuggets defeated the Trailblazers 110-93 Wed night. Nobody shot particularly well, as it looked like the altitude and tough defense affected their aim.

While their road woes continued, I am predicting they will break the curse this evening against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Blazers Win 4th In A Row

Blazerdamus proven wrong again! The Blazers continued their hot home-court winning streak last night, defeating the Detroit Pistons 102-94. LaMarcus Aldridge had a double-double, but the attack was well-balanced and showed the veteran Pistons they are a team to be reckoned with.

Of course all of this good news is helped by the Rose Garden environment, and I predict with the utmost certainty that the Blazers will lose on the road to the Denver Nuggets tonight. Still, the Blazers have been playing some good ball.

For those keeping score, both Blazerdamus and the Blazers are 4-3.

Blazers Set To Lose Tonight

The Detroit Pistons will bring the Blazers back down to earth, as I predict a Blazers loss.

Blazers Continue Winning Streak

Blazerdamus proven wrong again! Amazingly, the Blazers defended their home court last night and defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 91-82. Brandon Roy had a big game, contributing 32 points and 7 assists, and the Blazers defense was especially effective again, holding reigning NBA MVP Dirk Nowitzki to 11 points. Nice work Blazers!

For those keeping score, the Blazers are now 3-3, and Blazerdamus is 4-2.

Blazers Win 2nd In A Row

As predicted the Blazers won their 2nd game of the season last night against the Memphis Grizzlies. LaMarcus Aldridge contributed 30 points and 10 boards, and Brandon Roy and Jarret Jack stepped it up in the 4th quarter for the Blazers to pull away. The defense was especially good late in the game, as Pau Gasol came away scoreless in the 2nd half.

Tonight they play host to the Dallas Mavericks, and unfortunately they will not be able to continue the winning streak. Still, the last two games have featured much better play from the youngsters.

Blazers 2nd Home Game Tonight

Tonight the Blazers face Pau (don't add the "l") Gasol and the Memphis Grizzlies, and I predict a winning streak will begin.

Blazers Win First Game!

Blazerdamus is proven wrong!

Blazerdamus's loss is Portland's gain, as the Blazers won their first game of the season, beating the New Orleans Hornets 93-90. Check out nba.com for a full recap of this exciting news.

Looks like I'm 3-1 now, and I've decided to post end-of-the-month charts to see how well I'm doing.

Blazers Home Opener Tonight

While the Rose Garden might be excited to see their new-look Blazers, the team will be unable to produce their first victory, falling to the New Orleans Hornets (again). Looks like the new motto "RISE WITH US" is starting to be prophetic--first they will blaze this new trail of awfulness, then they will have a chance to rise from those ashes. Too bad they aren't the Phoenix Suns...

Blazers Lose 3rd Game In Row

As I correctly predicted, the Blazers lost last night to the Houston Rockets. It was a pretty dismal performance early on, with Brandon Roy the only Blazer to produce any real positive numbers. The scoreline was a respectable 80-89, but they were outclassed by the teamwork of the veteran Houston superstars.

Next up is the home opener against the New Orleans Hornets. Check back to see if and when they will win their first game.

Blazers Lose to N'Orleans, Next Up: Houston

The Blazers will win eventually, but they couldn't do much last night against the balanced attack of the Hornets. Brandon Roy stepped up his production from the first game, but nobody else stood out. The final score was NO 113, PDX 93.

Today they face the Houston Rockets, and yep, they will lose.

Maybe they'll find a way to victory in their home opener--stay tuned.

Blazers 2nd Game Will End In...

Defeat.

Their early season road trip will not help the team build momentum, and they will certainly not be able to overcome the New Orleans ballers tomorrow night as they have the extra homecourt advantage.

Spreads & Predictions

I've decided from here on out to stop looking at the betting odds and will no longer be taking those into consideration when posting my predictions for the rest of the season. The reason for this decision is:

1. I do not endorse gambling, and do not encourage you to place hard-earned money on the line based on my uncanny ability to see the future.

2. It will be a lot easier to keep track and graph my predictions if it is only an issue of win/loss & correct/incorrect.

3. I don't really understand the process of who decides what the betting odds are.

Therefore, I consider my prediction last night to be correct, but I won't fault those of you who doubt my abilities, since we'll have to see how things work over the long season.

Blazers Lose First Game

As expected, the Blazers lost to the San Antonio Spurs 97-106. LaMarcus Aldridge and Martell Webster played well, but it wasn't enough to overcome the defending NBA champions.

Blazers Open New Season Tonight

This could be a long season for the young Blazers, as they will struggle to earn even 25 victories.
I see them finishing with at 24-58 record, and missing the playoffs for a 5th straight year. Look for 2nd year man Brandon Roy to increase his production in all categories, but other players will not shine nearly as brightly. Also, look for foreigner Sergio Rodriguez to be traded sometime when the team decides they no longer want to hear "aqui!" on the court.

The Trailblazers begin the 2007-2008 season against the San Antonio Spurs tonight, and it looks like they are 13 point underdogs. I predict they will indeed lose the game, and not cover the spread.
